After all the administrative frustrations of the last few years, we are very pleased to welcome two new members into our Stellulata Cohousing community. We now have future residents for each of the three units in our development.
Jill and James are Sydney escapees in their 40s and 50s who moved to Canberra a year ago. In September, after attending a Sustainable House Day webinar where cohousing was discussed, they found the Stellulata website and our request for a third party to join.
For many years they have lived in apartments of a similar size to the Stellulata units, so down-sizing was not the issue. They were looking to move somewhere with a garden, improved sustainability features and the opportunity to build community, which is often missing in apartment living.
Celebrating the new Stellulata team and constitution
Just three months after our first phone conversation we concluded sign-on formalities. Covid-19 restrictions added to the process, as we spent time getting to know each other and discussing and agreeing the financials and revising the company’s Constitution.
